Absolutely NOT! CPS is the opposing party in the case. You do NOT have to explain ANYTHING to them. When they tell you that “you will not get your kids back unless you start talking” is called coercement and is illegal on their part. Keep a log of what was told to you so that you can bring that up in court.

During an investigation, you do NOT have to talk to the social worker, you do NOT have to take any drug tests, and you do NOT have to sign anything.

You ONLY have to do what you are court ordered to do.

Ohh…and by the way, if you sign a service plan before you are found “guilty” in court, that means that you agree with everything on that plan PLUS that you are guilty of whatever abuse or neglect they alleged that you did.
